This year was characterized by problems due to the summer weather conditions, with frequent rain and temperatures often lower than the average, therefore, in order to achieve a good level of ripening, a heavy selection was necessary in the vineyard, resulting in a drastic reduction of the product. Nevertheless, thanks to the good weather in September and the first half of October, the result of the 2002 harvest was satisfactory for all red wines and above all for Barbera and Nebbiolo, which, although they did not reach the concentrations of the previous years, still had a good balance between polyphenols, aromas and extracts. To sum up, the hard work in the vineyard gave successful results.
