The Dolcetto grapes were harvested in the first half of September; owing
to the fine weather and the excellent condition of the grapes the Barbera
and Nebbiolo were harvested without trouble, having reached an optimum
level of ripeness at the end of the first week of October. Some of the
bunches more exposed to the sun were a little scorched, but the quality
was excellent, yielding wines with a high alcoholic percentage and the
right acidity. The 2003 harvest will be remembered in years to come
because of the wonderful weather conditions which allowed the harvest to
be carried out respecting the maturation time of each single variety and
each single vineyard.
