Regarding climate this year’s temperature is similar to that of 2002,
although fortunately less rainy. The production was high and therefore
frequent thinning was necessary during the ripening. An exceptionally fine
September led to an extraordinary recovery of the grapes’ sugar
concentration levels; the final result was a balanced maturation of
polyphenols, aromas and acidity. The harvest took place 15/20 days later
than 2003, therefore for the Nebbiolo variety in the second half of
October. To sum up it can be considered a traditional harvest yielding
high quality wines with a long ageing capacity.
